Thank you for saying all this! For me as I said in the chat, drawing and journaling is fairly new. I always thought I was more the "letter type" and not someone who knew how to decorate, enjoy colours and lean into creativity that way, so this adventure is feeling amazing and fulfilling, however I do see all this trends that are basically doing what they do with any niche that capitalism touches.
So my way of contributing to that is not buying more into trends and making use of what I have. My friend Brenda is an artist who does embroidery and the first thing she told me when I started to draw was "buying more expensive things won't make your drawings better, what will help you improve them is: drawing. And that can be done with whatever you have already." ❤️
i love what brenda said!!! i had to learn that the hard way because i bought lots of (often expensive) things and realised that’s not what makes you good!
